Friends FAQs

 

1. Can I have more than one resume stored in my account?

 A: Yes. Your user profile allows you to add as many resumes as you would like.

 

2. How do I post a job listing?

 A: If you have a listing you would like to post for a short-term employment opportunity, users can do so through the job menu under Gigs. If you have an established business, we suggest creating a profile on the employer side of our app and submitting the listing under that profile in order for the posting to be added under our career section in the job marketplace.

 

3. How do I view posted jobs?

 A: The "employment" tab on the bottom bar takes the user to the job marketplace. Users can search between careers and gigs. Under careers, users can filter to search for jobs that may be of interest. Under gigs, users can search for casual employment opportunities posted by other users and even post listings of their own.

 

4. How do I change my account information?

 A: There is an edit profile button on the user profile page. The menu button on the top right of the user profile page is where users can add/edit conviction information.

 

5. Do you provide resume building or any related services?

 A: Friend A Felon app allows users to create resumes on their user profiles. Users should try to fill in as much information as possible. It is also important to tailor your resume to the job you are applying for.

 

6. I've applied to hundreds of jobs and I've had no luck. What can I do?

 A: Applying for as many jobs as possible is important. Friend A Felon app was created to provide accessibility to potential employment opportunities however we cannot guarantee any user a job.

 

7. What do I need to submit a job application?

 A: Any requirements needed for job applications are typically listed in the job description. In most cases, employers will ask for a resume. Requirements may vary by employer and job role so it is best to read the job listing in its entirety.

 

8. Am I eligible for any job?

 A: Employers establish their own hiring processes and background check requirements. Fair Chance Hiring laws vary from state to state. As a rule of thumb, if your criminal record relates directly to the functions of the job, it may affect your eligibility. It is best to contact the employer to obtain a better understanding of their hiring policies. We encourage you to apply to every employment opportunity that peaks your interest.

 

9. How do I use the Friend A Felon app?

 A: The Friend A Felon app provides resources to help felons and individuals with previous convictions with their re-entry into society. Upon signup, the app asks for job seekers to disclose information regarding their most conviction. Once inside the app, users have access to search through employment opportunities, housing options, and re-entry resources. The app also features a forum that allows users to connect with one another.

Employer FAQs

 

1. Am I able to view potential applicants?

 A: Once we have enough information from your company and job seeking users, we will look to provide employer and candidate matching for our users.

 

2. How do I view job listings I have posted?

 A: The tab on the bottom bar labeled "listings" will show all of the listings you have posted. Click each one to view the details of the listing.

 

3. How do I create my company profile page?

 A: Upon sign up, the app asks the user to disclose information about their company. This information is for the user profile. On the user profile there is a button labeled "Company Profile." This is where you can fill out the information about your company for job seeking users to view when looking at one of your listings.

 

4. How does hiring the formerly incarcerated affect my bottom line?

 A: Hiring returning citizens has shown to produce less turnover for companies. Business owners should look into resources that protect your business when hiring individuals from certain targeted groups who have consistently faced barriers to employment.

Re-entry Organization FAQs

 

1. How do I post about my organization to gain recognition?

 A: There is a forum where you can post in which is accessible for users with previous convictions to view on their side of the app. Use this forum to highlight the services you offer, your organizations mission/vision, and accomplishments in your communities.

 

2. Can I message users looking for assistance?

 A: Currently our app only allows users looking for assistance to message you. Along with the message, they should provide a contact number and email address which you can use to further contact the user.

 

3. How do I create my company profile page?

 A: Upon sign up, the app asks the user to disclose information about their organization. This information is for the user profile. On the user profile there is a button labeled "Company Profile." This is where you can fill out the information about your company for users in need of assistance to view when viewing posts from your organization in the forum.

Property Owner FAQs

 

1. What if something occurs with someone I house?

 A: As a property owner, you most likely already have an agreement for tenants. If you are interested in housing individuals with previous convictions, we suggest creating a sub-section specifically for these individuals with your own guidelines and policies.

 

2. Am I able to view potential tenants?

 A: Once we have enough information from your company and users in search of housing, we will be able to provide property owner and tenant matching.
